Kelly-Anne Rover Founder/CEO

Communication is the foundation of our daily lives and a basic human right.

Kelly-Anne Rover is the Founder and CEO of First In–Vizually Speaking and Vizually Speaking. She is a specialist in communication and behavioral support and is a parent of a child with a communication disorder. This personal experience gives her a unique understanding of the challenges faced by parents and caregivers. Kelly-Anne is dedicated to improving the lives of caregivers, community professionals, and individuals with disabilities, medical conditions, mental health issues, or other special needs.

 

With over thirty years of experience in education, inclusion, speech and language disorders, and behavioral support, Kelly-Anne maintains a professional scope that aligns with the latest research and practices in her field. Her qualifications include numerous certifications in Communication Disorders (CDA), Behavioral Support Work, Rehabilitation Support Work (RSW), Autism, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behavior (UMAB), HCP/AFA First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR/AED, and Wilderness Search and Rescue.

 

In her leisure time, Kelly-Anne volunteers as a Ski Patroller, provides first aid at charity events, and supports local families dealing with disabilities, medical conditions, mental health issues, or those who are English language learners. She has developed communication strategies and tools to help overcome communication barriers in emergencies, which have been used by First Responders at charity events, such as The Ride to Cure Cancer, the One Walk to Cure Cancer, and the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games. These tools are also included in medical kits for events across Canada by Odyssey.

 

Kelly-Anne is a member of the Brain Injury Awareness Month (BIAM) committee, organized by the Brain Injury Society of Toronto (BIST), the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA), and the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC).

 

Her compassion and dedication to this demographic are evident in her work, philanthropic efforts, and family life.
